How much space do you need?
2 x 3 meters when we play as a trio. A bit more if any additional musicians are required, especially a drummer.
How is it best to time things?
You can book us to perform at any point in your day. Discuss options with our agent.
Can I pick the bands playlist?
We tend to let the client choose songs that they want or don’t want and then we tailor setlists over their needs. We feel that that way we can build better setlists that flow more smoothly.
Where will you travel to?
We don’t have travel limits. If the budget covers it we can travel wherever the client needs. As a rule of thumb though if the event is 5 hours far or more we ask the client to provide accomodation, or a budget for us to find one.
Can I see you play live?
Sure! We don’t play many gigs open to the public but whenever we do we are happy to have you with us! Get in contact with us and we’ll let you know about any upcoming gigs.
Will you learn our special song?
Yes. We offer up to 3 special request songs for free (we only ask the client to come up with the requests at least two weeks prior to the show, so that we have plenty of time to rework the songs to fit into our setlists and rehearse them properly.
We can take further requests but we will charge £60 per song after the third one (unless they are already part of our repertoire, in that case it’s for free!)
Is the video on your website a true reflection of the band?
Yes, it’s 100% live and we choose some of songs that received the best feedback from our previous clients.)
How do I book you?

Are you able to DJ in between sets?
Yes, we have the equipment to provide music between sets.
Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?
Yes. I can put together a playlist for you.
Can we use your sound system for speeches?
No problem!
What equipment do you use?
We are a small band, so usually our amps and a small 2 speakers PA provides the power that we need.
We can always hire a bigger sound system if the client requires so.
Do you have lights?
We can hire them.
How long do you play for?
Usually our performances are 2 x 45’ sets.
We are very versatile though, we can tailor our shows on any format that tha client might need.
What time do you start and finish?
The standard is 18 to midnight. We can extend this for an additional charge of £60 per hour.
How long do you take to set up?
30 mins for the standard Trio lineup. 1 hour for any extended lineup.
Can I provisionally book you?
Yes, but we will need a non refundable deposit to keep the date clear.
What if the band split up before my event?
Everyone in the band has two deps ready to take over.
Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?
Sure! For one or two songs if would be fun!
What will the band wear?
We always come dressed as you see in the pictures on our website. The keyword is “Gatsby”.
Does the band have PAT and PLI certificates?
Yes, both of them and up to date!
Why should I book The Futuristic Gramophones?
The most common feedback that we have received is “The guys really set the mood for the night!”.
Our clothes plus the vintage look of our instrument, the choice of songs and our style creates an inimitable “1920s” atmosphere, with the additional value that many of the songs are actually contemporary hits.

Do The Futuristic Gramophones have any specific requirements?
We only ask the band to be provided a hot meal if the gig is during lunchtime or dinnertime. Please note that two of us are allergic to mushrooms. Also we will need a space where to get changed and to store our empty cases if the car parking is far away.
The room would ideally be heated and with a mirror.
What type/size venues are you able to play at?
Any size really, we will adapt the PA to any different situation.
How loud will the band be?
We are a jazz drumless trio, so normally we shine as a background music band. With a drummer and a proper PA though we can get loud enough to get everybody on the dancefloor!
What is the band power requirement?
Normally we only have two amps (150W and 800W) and two speakers with a mixer (total roughly 400W).
With a bigger lineup we will need more power.
Do The Futuristic Gramophones offer any additional services?
We can do roaming or completely acoustic gigs.
Also we have worked in the past with solo pianists, we can provide one to open the show for us, maybe to play during the dinner, and then we take over with the full band.
